For this posting we dive into the Fatbike Republic archives and revisit a number of reviews and a DIY.
GRIP STUDS
The amount of ice traction these screw in studs provide still amazes me. Depending upon yearly ice conditions, I have even augmented studded tires with Grip Studs for some extra traction.
The Stafast Suspension Stem is a neat product that takes the place of your existing stem on your fat bike to give a little damping in the front end. While it is no replacement for the travel of a suspension fork . . . it is a heck of a lot lighter, somewhat cheaper and does take the edge off many bumps.
You have to admit that elliptical chainrings kinda look a little odd, but they do seem to work. Testing of the Wolf Tooth Elliptical revealed subtle positive changes in climbing and acceleration with overall "smoother" pedaling.
So you run out of walls to lean your fatbike against and you have a supply of scrap lumber . . . what do you do? Build a cheap and easy fat bike stand.
RIDE FAT!
